Title: electronics on the suncat
Post by: MateMatty on May 18, 2009, 06:09:07 PM
Ahoy,

My dad and I just got a "new to us" SunCat. (2006-ish).  We are interested in adding a depth finder and a stereo and would love any thoughts, ideas, horror stories, photos, tips, etc...  Also, has anyone tried solar trickle chargers?

We are having such fun lake sailing our little boat... "The Nanny B"

Cheers,
Matt

I just installed a Hawkeye Depth Sounder ( a Norcross product available at West Marine) I decided to use the shoot thru the hull method of installing the transducer and it looks like it is going to work fine. If you decide to go that way I can give you some pointers that will make it easier. We just use a "boom box" but installing a permanent stereo should not be a problem. A solar panel will do the job when it comes to charging anything you would normally install on a SunCat.
