Looks like it is coming in from the screws that secure the slides for the hatch cover and boards. 3M 5200 or is there a better way to go?

Find the source before you tear off a lot of stuff... A couple of good ways to do that.
Easiest but not always as successful: Shoe horn yourself into the cabin with the hatch boards and sliding hatch closed. Have someone running a garden hose all over the boat while you look around inside with a flash light...
Not so easy but very effective: Seal a shop vac hose in place to blow air into the cabin. We did this on a Hunter 23 a few years ago. We replaced the companion way hatch with a temporary cardboard hatch covered with a trash bag. Duck taped it in place and closed all the hatches/windows. With the shop vac blowing air into the boat spray soapy water around all stanchions, ports, hatches, deck mounted hardware, everything that goes through the deck or hull... Watch for bubbles.
