Guys - I have a plastic clip stitched on the leech of my main (about 12" up from the clew). It is best described as a plastic clip that has a small amount of thin line on it. I'm guessing the main is not set up for reefing since there are no grommets or anything other than what I described. Can anyone tell me what this is for? Roller reefing perhaps? It's also found on the leech of my headsail.
Thanks in advance for any replies!
That sounds like a leech line. It is used to adjust the leech to prevent fluttering. You can have reef points added to any sail by any competent sail shop.

Thanks Rick. Assuming you're correct and it's a leech line, how do I use it?
Pull on it to stop the leech from flapping if its flapping.

The owner's manual I have indicates that that plastic clip and line is to 'cup' the leech to capture a tiny bit more air on days that we are drift sailing on.
No air pull the line and dog it down. With air release the line and open the leech. skip.
