Title: Compac 16 Height on Trailer
Post by: beshman2 on August 04, 2008, 12:33:21 PM
Does anyone have a ground to cabintop height available on the Compac 16 as it sits on its trailer?  Assuming I am able to find one in my area that I can afford, I would like to build a small carport off my shed and need to make sure this boat will fit underneath.

hopefully this will help.

First, the top point is actually the front bowrail.  Not sure if all CP16's have them or not.   IF the main and boom have low-ish designed crutches, the boat fits in a 7' high garage door. Barely. That's with the Magic Tilt trailer and 5.70x8 tire setup. So I guess I would get one at least this high and maybe be prepared to rebuild the crutches in case you have clearance problems. If they are a few inches more than 7', great you should be OK.

Thank you, that is what I needed.  I suspected it would be around 7 ft, but needed to be sure before starting to build.

I'd go tall enough to be able to board and access the cabin while in storage.
