Title: Sail Numbers
Post by: don l on July 27, 2008, 01:59:44 AM
On my Com Pac 16 main sail, there are Sail numbers. I am new to sailing.  The boat is a 1982, just wondering what is this all about, and what does it tell me or others about the boat?

Don,
The sail number is your HULL number.  Nothing to do with the year.   Well, to other CP-16 sailors maybe .
Your sail number should match you serial number, i.e. part of anyway.  That is on the transom of your boat.   It could be different if someone changed sails at some point.

Ours is a 1983 CP-16,  Sail number 1994

Happy Sailing.

Thanks of the information.   I was also noticing on the internet, that sail numbers can be registered for 25.00 dollars.

Will be taking the boat out this Thursday to dry dock at the marina for a couple of weeks, I have had her in at Cherry Creek for about 3 weeks, trying to sail each day with the wife mostly, sometimes alone.  Want to clean her up and do some maintenance and can put her in for daily use if the wind be right.

Thank for your help.
