Title: Introduction
Post by: Ray M on July 16, 2008, 05:54:42 PM
Hi Everyone,

I finally got my C16.  It took me four years of looking and waiting, but now I've got one all tucked away in the garage.  C16s are very, very rare up here in the Northwest, but I finally found a good one in Eastern Washington.  It's an '88 in terrific condition.  I just bought a new Yamaha 2.5 for the boat too.  I really want to get out onto the saltwater and head up into the British Columbia area.  I hope I can arrange for the time soon.  I've only had the boat out once so far.  I took it out on Lake Union and the ship canal in Seattle.  Eveybody kept waiving at us (my wife and I) and asking us what kind of boat we had.  I think I'm going to have to get used to all the questions and comments.  I've had bigger boats, a Hunter 23 and a O'Day 22, and I'm thrilled to have someting that is so easy to trailer, handle, and store.  It looks so good too.  Just wanted to intro myself to the Compac community.

Hi RM,

Welcome to this great website! ComPacs are well built, sail good and they look like a sailboat.

Post some pics for us.

Have fun, Gil

Welcome  aboard RM

BC or local you have some great sailing ahead. Are you in Seattle and did you sail your other boats in the NW. Hood Canal from Seabec, Whidby Island around Oak Harbor,Deception Pass and La Conner area just to name a few are enough to spend a long  long time exploring. Not to mention the San Juan's and Victory area.
May your Com-Pac serve you well
Melvin

I also did a downsize and don't regret it at all!  Best of luck with your new love.

P.s.  I once lived in Spokane WA.   Yikes!
