I joined this group almost a year ago. I read just about all of the postings and looked at a lot of the pictures. This is definitely a group of people who love to sail and take pride in these fine boats. I have learned a lot from the postings and photos. Some of these boats look better than new. I looked for a Com-Pac to call my own with little luck. The ones I did find were out of my price range or trashed. I was in one of my local boat yards and a red hull Edel 540 caught my eye. A deal was done and I now have a "new" boat. I plan on using a lot of things I learned from you fine Com-Pac people on my Edel 540. I will still look to this website for ideas and help.
I may not be a Com-Pac owner, but I do own a Clark Mills designed boat. My Windmill is forty years old and is an all wood boat. I have won a few races with her and I have no plans on letter her go.

You know what they say about boats, the best one to have is the one you got, the next best is the one you want. Just make sure that one is a Com-Pac.

It takes all types of boats to please the sailors in all of us.............
I'm sure you will pamper and care for her just as well as we pamper and care for our Com Pacs.
The type of boat we own is as personal as choosing a wife, no two our exactly the same.
Besides all this, its being a sailor that really counts !

I know it's a ComPac site, but I bet we don't have to give up our ComPac corporate sponsorship money if you hang around anyway....
There are so many good boats out there, and the best ones are the ones that are sailed.
There's also a lot of good folks out there, and on this site the same holds true, the best ones sail, or want to sail, or used to sail....
Let's just keep this boat manufacturer name thing between us and I think you'll still fit right in.
Congrats on finding a boat that was calling you... Isn't it something when you finally find her? Magic!!
Right now a much longer boat that I can't trailer is calling me.... I haven't found her yet....

I, for one, would have never allowed this if you had asked for permission lol But now that the deal's done..g/l and fair winds. We'll see you out there.
BTW...before you go, got any pictures of her?
I'd forgive you but alas I'm not even a Com-Pac owner myself, so that's makes me a non-voting member I spose.

I now have a new toy in my back yard. Now it is time for the normal sand, paint, repair, and replace to make her ready for the water. My car (Subaru Outback) towed the boat very good. Living in the southeast corner of Virginia means I will not have to tow it far to get to a ramp. Seeing it on the trailer is one thing, but seeing it in my mirrors was something else. That eight foot beam might be good in the water, but on the road it seems so darn wide and tall. A swim ladder will be added. I can't get into the boat with it on the trailer without using a ladder.

Saw pictures and facts for your new boat on-line today, looks like a nice boat. After you complete your projects you should have some nice times on the water.
The deepper keel and 8ft beam add up to a nice stable boat plus good room on boat, both interior and in cockpit. Keep us updated on your progress.

This website is really about people. Even if you didn't own a boat and had never sailed this would be a good place to ask questions to find out if you might like it. Well you are a sailor and even if you don't own a com-pac this is a good place to find out if you want one. Beyond that it's a good place to share some fellowship and just "read the mail".
