Does anyone have their main sheet rigging at the front (mid-ship) of the cockpit rather than at the stern? I have seen a picture of a rig like this and wonder if there is any benefit/disadvantage to it? Looks like it may be of benefit to having a bimini placed further aft??

Moving the mainsheet attachment point forward like that can give you better (tighter) sheeting angles on some points of sail, and allow you to install a traveller system.
Two things to consider about it, though - the mainsheet being in front of the companionway (and at the front of the cockpit), and it puts loads on the boom which differ from what it was designed for.
I've thought about doing that also.
