the serial number on the stern of my cp16 is abvo1344mb1b. i take it the this is boat 1344. does anyone know what the letter designations are?

You bet and the answer is in past posts, many times. It's my #50 22-September-2007, and elsewhere too...

ABV= Hutchins Boat
1344 hull #
M=?
B=September
1=01 day, September
B=?

Typically: A=Aug, B=Sept, C=Oct, D= Nov, E=Dec, F=Jan,G=Feb, H=Mar, I April, J=May, K=June, L=July
Numbers after the hull number are days of the year, and last number of the year.
Check your numbers and see if a 'B' isn't an '8'. Best I can do. skip.
