I'm looking at mine, and if I put a bowsprit on, the new jib mounting point will be forward of the pulpit it seems.
Will I just run my jib outside of the safety rails then? Or do I need a new, longer pulpit?
I'd call Compac on that. Or measure carefully noting that the forestay comes back at an angle and you just need to clear the pulpit. The CP bowsprits are fairly short.

Nope. But bow pulpit will keep a little bit of the head sail from going where it wants to go.
Skip, do you have a bowsprit? My 19 is only the 22nd one ever built, and perhaps the old bow pulpit is shorter than the new ones.
When building my bowsprit, I'd like to get the forstay forward about 12" or so.
It's way too cold to pull her out and stand the mast, but warm enough in the shop to build the bowsprit!
Maybe I'll learn something at the show in Chicago....
As seen in the frappr photos, skip's 19 was fitted with a bow pulpit and bow sprit, my sailing buddy in Wind Rover, also a 19; we had to fit a bow pulpit and bow sprit on that hull. In either case none of the head sails fully deploy and fill because they hit the bow pulpits, no big deal for me or the other sailor.
I have the pulpit on my boat, I was wondering if there was an extended pulpit for the bowsprit or if the same one is used. Perhaps there is a difference between the CP19-1 and the CP19-3?
It is not worth the extra effort to change the bow pulpit. It will sail fine and the 10 inch bow sprit sure looks good. That is easy to install find my past posts on doing the job for the boat Wind Rover. skip.

Yes, I've been "lurking" in the 19s section... To clear the pulpit, I made up a pendant at West Marine's cable section... (after making "test pendants" from rope)... it's about 11" long and the foot of the sail clears, and there is still enough luff to pull tight on the jib halyard with room to spare at the top. One benefit is that I can see under my 155 so I didn't need a window in it.

Since I spin the head sail up on a Harken '00' furler, I'm not able to raise the foot of the head sail up off the deck without shortening my foil. But the sail still works well. skip.
