Prior to buying my present Compac 27 , I was shown another 27 which
had all its exterior "teak" completely free of all "finishes or oils" and was
clear,free of all blemishes(water stains) and seemed to be protected
by a wax-----which was rubbed in and smooth to the touch. "BEAUTIFUL"
To date I have not been able to find anyone who may be familiar with
this method of protection.
Hopefully someone here can "enlighten me" ron

It might have just been raw teak fine sanded and maybe oiled but not recently.
Oil drys out in a matter of weeks on exterior teak. You really just oil teak to replenish the wood's natural oils that gradually dry out in the sun. On exterior teak you should oil every 2-3 weeks (which is why most people use other finishes such as varnish or cetol). On interior teak once or twice a season is enough in most places.

All the wood below decks on my Com-Pac 19 has been hand rubbed with 8~9~ maybe 10 coats of MinWax. Wipe on, let sit. wipe off. Only took two seasons of puttering around on the boat. skip.
I did see a vary nice boat waxed 100% in WoodenBoat Mag. Man it was pretty.
