Title: striped jib
Post by: roland cobine on December 13, 2007, 07:50:12 PM
my compac 16 has the original johnson sails----the stock main and two jibs. the smaller jib appears to be the regular equipment sail. the other jib is diagonally striped and is larger .  ive used it with my roller furler but i would like to know if anyone has further info regarding it.

Yeah, the original set up was a standard jib and a 130% Genoa.  That is, bigger sail is 30% bigger than the fore triangle (or whatever percentage it may be;  110, 120 130).

RE furling:  I really don't have any experience placing it on a furler.  Others may.  But, IMHO, I would use it as it was designed:  hanked on.
