Title: Rail Mount Outboard Bracket
Post by: DH on December 04, 2007, 03:04:05 AM

Has anyone succeeded in putting one of these on a 27 to transport an outboard. The T that makes up the stern rails is just off slightly enough to not fit correctly. Any suggestions?

Hey David,
My PO did have an auxialiary motor mount on the stern rail. I'll dig out some photos and see if it is clear how this was accomplished. He also had a small crane lift attached. There is a ball and an aluminum tube with top extension and pulley assembly to hoist the outboard then he just moved it over a little and fastened to the motor mount. I promise I'll look it up and get back to you.

Here is what I did.

Bought some 3/4 inch HDPE and started wittling. The upright is not square to the horizontal piece so I had to recut the upright slot a little.
