Title: new suncat stuff
Post by: patch on November 26, 2007, 08:52:50 PM
compac has new rudder bearing to take the slop out of the rudder.that and the new Ida rudder are my Xmas present to myself.the Ida rudder is a complete change from what the original suncat rudder looks like.

I am doing that too. I just ordered the new bushings and I am having a Metal fabricator create 5/16 hex bolt 9 inches long to pin the rudder on with one bolt instead of two. this should make a very tight pivot process. I will let you know how it works.
They are also making a Mooring Bit (sampson Post) for the fore deck to replace the standard Cleat. Should look more Nautical!
All the best
John

the new Ida rudder for the suncat is not a straight bolt on.the rudder mounts have to be relocated,Ida rudder company sent me the way to do it.if you email them they will answer you the next day.they say its straight forward and easy to do.
