Hard to believe I was the only Amen. I am fortunate- my dad and father-in-law both served and came back from ww2. Some didn't. My thanks to all you veterans out there. Here in the US, we certainly take our freedom for granted. A visit to a not-so-free country would be a needed wake up call.
I, for one, am proud to be an American! Even proud to be a New Jerseyan. Now, if we could widdle down the bone-head population in Trenton and ditch 90% of the lawyers here, this would be a perfect state! Don't get me started!!!!

I am a "first"gulf war (Panama and Granada also) era veteran having served 8 years six months.  My watch was relatively easy compared with the one our troops are standing now.  My heart goes out to them. Politics aside they need our support and love.

A salute to all who serve past and present.  I chose to not carry a gun.  I joined the USAF in '63-'67.  Supported the troops during Vietnam effort, but not the war.  A visit to the wall in DC is a sobering event for me.  All those names.....all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice... Really bugs me when on Veterans Day its about the shopping......

I was also in the USAF but I was a SAC security guy. Guns were part of the job.
