Title: Hair Line crack ?

I posted this on the Eclipse section with no response, may be here it will get some results .

I have discovered a small hair line crack running from under the stern ladder. it runs in the middle of what I would call a joint area. this area form the lip that protrudes out from the stern and the bottom of the hull meet, hope that makes some since to you readers.

Any how, when you step on the ladder the crack widens to about 1/8" and it runs about 12 inches on this lip.

I can squeeze it together with my fingers.  I don't know if this is a separation of the glass, stress crack, or a manufacture issue !

I had no water in the bilge after sailing Sunday for about 2.5 hrs.

I don't no if this is a simple fix or something I should have done.

Are you the first owner?  And how long have you owned her?   The repair is simple In theory,  More glass, reinforce the area, sand fair and jell coat repair.  FIRST call com-pac!  They may already have experience with this problem! I would have it repaired professionally but thats just me.

ick,

I'm the second owner, the boat is a 2006.

I would expect the boat is out of any type of warranty.

I would most likely have it fixed professionally.

I guess it will be setting hard until get the repairs done, no sense getting any more water in there and making things worse.

you may still be in warranty. Sometimes the warranter will follow the boat and not the owner! Call Com-Pac just to be sure and to find out if they have any special instructions for the repair!
