Title: Functional "Boat Jewelry"
Post by: multimedia_smith on September 22, 2007, 05:37:05 AM
Here's a pic of my latest (summer) project... It is made from marine plywood and cherry with a rubber gasket to seal the splashes that may come over the rail on those days that I don't want to add a full hatch board... it is essentially a "first" hatch board... but a little shorter... it makes a nice transition to the cabin, is less likely to knick the shins or elbows and makes a nice "finished" look to the opening.  Here's a pic.

Our summer-stay-inside-season is over..... And now, for some sailing!

Best Regards

Dale

Looks great. I think adding some wood pieces here and there really dress up a boat.
I'm excited about the weather getting better too. It's hard to learn to sail without some wind and impossible keep the crew happy in the 100 degree heat.
