Title: Rigging a Com Pac 16
Post by: jbeach on July 18, 2007, 02:11:02 PM
I recently inherited a older 16 and called the company to see if they have an aft stainless rail that would act like like a traveler. The recent model has a rail like this today however they don't support that part at the factory today. Has anyone had a experience of designing one or know where I might purchase one?  Any rigging ideas are welcome.

Thank you,

I have never seen what you are talking about but it makes sense to use one. Could one modify the way a traveler mounts to use on the transom if what you are looking for doesn't exist anymore? I always hated the boom rigging on the CP-16 but never really thought about it until I bought my 98 Catalina 18. It is a single side line running through blocks and sits on the starboard side about 6" off center of the transom. I like this design better when not using a traveler and only half the ropes getting in the way and moves the boom with less rope pulling.

Not sure if this helps you out but I thought I would throw this out there for ideas.
