This is interesting.
How did I unknowingly become a moderator?
Why am I still reading this blog after selling our C-27 over 8 years ago?
answer:  The blog is INTERESTING at times

I was looking to add a post to Seychelles topic on "ageing out", but could not re-find it.

There is  similar topic on sailnet, IT HURTS YOUR SOUL TO SELL YOUR BOAT.  I contributed this comment to that thread.

I have been following this thread with both curiosity and a measure of sympathy.

I have been sailing since I was 14, Windmill #150. Since then I (we) have owned 10 other sailboats and sailed on more than 9 other types of sailboats. I recall being upset when dad sold the Windmill. I had put a bunch of work into it and was pretty certain that new owners were not going to care for it properly. The other boats I recall fondly. However we just sold our LAST boat. I logged in 511 days sailing her for the 8 years that she was ours. Our last sail was two days before the survey. We sold her because I realize that I am ageing out and need to move on.

That is different.....it has hurt my soul.
