I'm looking for some guidance on a bilge repair on a Com‑Pac 25. I went to replace my bilge pump and noticed that the bottom of the bilge was delaminating. Upon further inspection, I discovered that the aft portion of the keel area is actually filled with loose gravel that had been covered with plywood and then glassed over.
The plywood has since rotted away, the gravel is saturated with water, and it now all needs to be replaced. This area appears to be separated from the main keel by a fiberglass partition, which has me unsure how best to approach the repair.
Has anyone dealt with this type of repair before on a Com‑Pac 25 or similar design? Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
