Title: missing centerboard part?
Post by: alsantini on March 04, 2026, 05:55:57 AM
My stuck centerboard actually turned out to be a disconnected centerboard.  It was not connected to the board up line into the cockpit.  Apparently, the connection (bale?) failed.  Best he could do was push the board into the trunk and run a line under it to kep it up.  At least this will allow me to get the boat out of the slip and onto the trailer.  But, here is where I need help.  Does anyone know what this part is and where I can buy one?  I have looked at the obvious ones like West Marine with no clue.  I believe it was a pin with a strap.  Pin went through the centerboard and a line tied to the strap.  Also, how much width to the trunk is there?  HELP!!  Sail On,  AL

Bummer Al!

I remember a posting after the factory closed.  Fathom Metal Works, original supplier for parts, posted about providing parts for Com-Pac boats.  just found this:  https://www.fathommetalworks.com/compac-parts/p/com-pac-horizon-cat-centerboard-box-and-blade.

Perhaps they have a diagram of the parts used.

good luck!  If you are needing to sail, come on down!
