Sailed, well motored most of the way, home from Ocracoke Island on the Outerbanks today. Only saw fishing trawlers on the Pamilco Sound and a few southbound sailboats on the Neuse River (ICW), but as we motored up our creek I spotted a beautiful Compac 27 anchored just around the corner from out little cove. I approached close enough to chat with the owner and it turns out it's our very own Topsail! Normally I would have invited him for dinner and offered the use of our laundry and shower, but Joan was wiped out after being on the water 9 hours and her sister is arriving tomorrow afternoon.
Always good to meet other Compac O Nauts.
I was even even wearing my Compac hat!
It was great to see and chat a bit with the one and only CrazyCarl in person! Green Creek in Oriental is a convenient staging stop so we're there often. The next time you see Vivie anchored, come on out and let's visit. BTW, the Orion is a beautiful boat, even motoring.
I think that I passed this C-27 on the way to South River Thursday. It is indeed a good looking sailboat. I could not read the name because the dink covered most of it up. A little bit further down river I thought that I saw another 27. I was amazed to see two in one day......but its turned out to be a cheap Island Packet knock off.

Charlie, will you be replacing your PSC with anything after it sells?
Hey Carl: I hope to replace it with a 'buddy that has a sailboat'.

What a coincidence, I know a guy who could use a sailing buddy!
