Title: Standing Rigging
Post by: MichaelQuigley on July 22, 2025, 04:56:18 PM
I know I can get standing rigging made by just about any competent rigger.

It just used to be super nice that I could order a new set from Com-Pac, who got it from Seco South.

Seco South isn't doing marine rigging anymore (as of a few months ago).

Does anyone know if there are any riggers who have the rigging specs for our boats to produce replacement sets?

I know I'm probably going to have to take all the standing rigging off and measure every single bit of it in order to get a new set, but I'm kind of hoping someone already has the specs.

Just sent an inquiry to Dwyer, on the off chance they already have the specs. They already list parts for our boats by model... so maybe?

why do you need to replace standing rigging?  If it is corroded badly maybe.  If mast is down, take representative pieces to any good marina and they should be able to duplicate end fixtures and swag on new fittings to the proper cable lengths.  Should not be a difficult project.  Good luck.

Thanks so much for sharing this, MichaelQuigley! So you're saying Dwyer is selling Com-Pac parts? I'll definitely check that out -- if this is the case, this is what I've been waiting for -- to learn who has the parts and how we can get them. I, too, am looking for some standing rigging, but for my Legacy. Thanks, again, for sharing this info. :-)

Dwyer Mast provided spars and fittings for several Com-Pac boats for many years. They provided me shop drawings for all of the catboats when I contacted them a few years ago, that I posted here. Very useful.

Com-Pac did modify some of the Dwyer parts, the extended ring on the catboat gaff slides for example. And I don't think Dwyer made the Mastendr hinges.

I don't believe they provided any standing rigging, but it would be nice if they did.

Dwyer definitely does standing rigging in 2025. They said they have the specs for the rigging for my 19. They're getting a quote together for me.

I wish you luck with Dwyer or any other source for the rigging parts you seek.  I am happy to hear that Dwyer may be able to help us.

Maybe "Sources for Com-Pac Parts" would be a good major discussion category now that Com-Pac is out of business?

I agree — would be great to start a new category or create a "sticky" (or whatever they're called) to help access part info quickly.
