Title: Sun at rudder bushing specs
Post by: Westhillrick on June 12, 2025, 10:03:38 AM
I need to replace worn rudder bushings.  If I'm unable to find suncat-specific parts at a dealer, does anyone know the specs for these parts?  Need length,, outer diameter and inner diameter.  I believe the ID is 5/16 in and OD is 1/2 in but could be wrong and I don't have great measuring devices.

I'm also interested, needing to do this too. I bought nylon business from ace hardware which I'll try this weekend.

One thing I noticed throughout the rudder bushing threads in the archive is how often the "gudgeons" were drilled out to fit specific bushings, and replacement "pintles" substituted, neither likely sourced from Com-Pac.

Especially if you're not the original owner, I would rely on your measurements rather than what someone else used. Plenty of decent analog calipers out there for not much.
