Has anyone changed the wood trim to metal, that follows the cabin top where it breaks to a more vertical surface. Mine needs to be refinished but I do not look forward to all the taping. At first I thought it might be easier to refinish if I removed it, but it is a continuous piece so that might be difficult.
On a related note, any one try water based "varnish" rather that the traditional oil based? I do not have a good place to varnish, out of the sun, that will have no dew in the 8 hours oil base varnish takes to become tack free.
I am interested in same thing as I need to replace mine. I believe it is called eyebrow trim. I asked Hutchins parts last week and they did not have any available.
In an attempt to locate persistent small drips into the cabin I took that trim off and filled the little screw holes with caulk. I don't miss the trim, which needed work though the pesky little leaks persist...
