It's been a handful of months since I've stopped by to see what's going on. Lots of interesting (and sad) news here. It's going to take me a while to process that Com-Pac is gone. I started dreaming about Com-Pacs when I was barely double-digits old... mostly due to Robert Burgess. :-(
My wife and I are expecting our first child in early July. So that's been consuming a lot of our time. We'll be starting him out in the tradition, obviously.
We managed to get Bella swapped over onto her new trailer (finally) last weekend (I picked the trailer up right before Thanksgiving). And this weekend we took her out for a nice Saturday sail. Lovely sailing. Beautiful day. Lots of stuff that we're planning on tweaking and changing about how Bella is set up. Today was probably my wife's last outing of the sort, as we're in the home stretch now.

The new Triad trailer is a super amazing upgrade. Now Bella can go anywhere... Launches and retrieves like a dream. Tows like a dream.

p.s. If anyone out there needs a Hutch trailer for a Com-Pac 19, mine is at least serviceable. It might help a 19 find a new home if there are any without trailers. I would gladly re-home the trailer if someone needed it.
I am looking for a new trailer for my 1984 Compac 23. Salt water has finally done the original trailer in (Marathon,FL). Could I have the contact information for the company that built your new trailer, it looks great. Any suggestions on where to go for a new trailer will be appreciated.

Sure thing! The trailer was built by Triad Trailers in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mike (the gentleman who owns/runs Triad) is great and was very helpful, and their prices are very competitive. I went to the builders I could find who specialize in sailboat trailers, and Triad won on features/price. I was also happy to give the business to a company in North Carolina.

Hi, MichaelQuigley ~
Bella looks beautiful and her new trailer as well - so happy for you and your family to have such a lovely vessel and a fine trailer to go with her! I agree, the folks at Triad are wonderful - I have had many a conversation with them, myself, over the years. Like the folks at Com-Pac, the staff at Triad have always also been so helpful and customer-service friendly.
Congratulations on your new baby on the way, too! Such exciting times for you all!

Thank you so much for the kind words!
Thanks for the info on Triad. Will be in contact with them. Enjoy sailing your beautiful 19 (with a new trailer).
