Title: Exploring Lake Superior on a 17 ft Sailboat
Post by: passagesfromtheheart on March 16, 2025, 08:23:20 PM
Here is a phenomenal documentary about sailing the Apostle Islands with a trailerable sailboat -- in this case, it's a Siren 17 - the folks who put this doc together did an absolutely stellar job -- wait until you see the adventures they have! Amazing stuff!!!

Heavy rain this morning so I watched the video. Very well put together and informative. They trailered from D.C. and it wasnt their 1st time. Nice. Some of the areas look like the North Channel.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! My eyes were like giant saucers the whole time I watched - it was really inspiring to me! I believe they sold the Siren 17 and now sail a Flow 19, from what I've ascertained from their more recent videos.

Carl, wondering, do you watch the videos of the guy who used to have a 17 ft Montgomery but recently bought a Flicka, I think? His channel is David Young, if I remember correctly, and he is sailing in the PNW.

No. I've been following "Sam Holmes Sailing". He sailed out of Oriental a few years back. I met him on the street a few days before he left. I also follow "Adventures of an Old Seadog".
