Title: attaching photos
Post by: Mas on March 16, 2025, 10:46:55 AM
So...know this been a topic already but still no resolution, at least from my end, on how to drag and drop a photo. One picture is worth a thousand words thus not very useful when you cannot attach such a photo!

There should be a banner at the bottom where you cab drop/drag pics.

Sorry if I'm being dense here, but If I click on Reply, and not use the Quick Reply box, there is a banner at the bottom where you can drag files to upload them. Using Quick Reply seems to require a url. I never use that.

Don't know if the double image problem some have experienced is related to the Quick Reply option. I haven't had that problem with Reply.

I've found if I hit the insert button, it posts a double pic. If not, just one.

The problem is once I drag an image to the attach bar it rejects it as a format not recognized. jpeg is the format recognized by almost every website and the default format for exporting an image from my photo library. This has been a problem with this forum for several years, at least for me, since the migration to the Simple Machines site. Will try to reconfigure the format exports.

Weird. If you look under the above picture, you'll see it is jpeg.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that with a .jpeg on this site. I've just dropped the "e" in the file name and it worked. No reformatting required, everyone else thinks they're the same. Bizarre.

yup, deleting the e in jpeg worked. Go figure, not a very robust website if can't recognize jpeg.

Carl, I did notice the jpeg below your pic.
