Most bilge water falls from the sky, landing on the deck of the boat. It can enter around a stanchion, deck block, handrail, anything that is thru-bolted to the deck. From there gravity sucks it down into the the cabin, chain locker, or cockpit lockers. All these places have acess to the bilge for the water to run. Once in the bilge, it can be pumped out, or used to make a strong pot of coffee.

Next question?

That statement reminds me of asking about roaches in South Mississippi.  When asked if you have any, there are those who immediately admit to it and those that are liars.;)

That said my bilge only has had water in it when I put it in there purposely to test the pumps.  The rest of the time it has been bone dry.  Now, it is a Compac with outboard shroud tangs so in that area I get a little trickle which drys up before it makes it to the bilge.
