I put a deposit on this boat a few weeks ago and came to see it yesterday. Decided not to buy it because there is too much work to be done. But it?s priced right at $3,900 for the right buyer. Confirmed with Gerry Hutchins that this is the last production Com-Pac 16 built by the factory and the last CB model.
Here are the reasons I passed in her. There is a crack in the gelcoat at least 18? long on the starboard side where the cabin top meets the deck. The plywood hatch boards are wet and rotted. The interior of the boat is wet and has been for some time and the original Airforce sails are wet and mildewed. There was also some damage inside the boat from one or more critters gnawing on the white fabric.
These issues are all somewhat easily fixed but I don?t have a place to work on a boat so I?m posting this for those of you looking for a nice late model 16 CB that needs a little help.
