Does anyone with a CDI roller fuller adjust luff tension to accommodate different conditions? And if so have you come up with a better way than going forward and doing it at the jib tack?
I don't think there is any adjustment. You get it as tight as you can, but at some point you are just trying to compress the luff extrusion since it free floats on the stay at the top. You have to make sure the luff of the sail isn't too long for the furler so that you don't hit the top of the extrusion at the halyard turn without taking up all the slack at the tack. If that isn't the case you cannot get it tight. When I got a new 130 I was close, probably have about an two inches with the sail fully up. I got a dynema soft shackle so I would not have as much knot at the tack and could get it tight.
