Title: Lake Michigan advice
Post by: Fastdoc98 on July 19, 2022, 01:50:43 PM
I've been itching to trailer my Eclipse up to either Wisconsin or Michigan to spend 4-5 days day sailing around the area.  I've been up in Door County at Fish Creek on vacation with the family and it looked like it would be super fun to get a slip in either Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Ephraim, or Sister Bay and have some day sails around the islands in the area.  I was also considering the west arm of Grand Traverse Bay, maybe around Suttons's Bay?  I've never been there so I'm not sure if its feasible, but it looks good on Google Maps!  I'm looking at September before I can get some time away from work to get up there.  Anyone have any advice or inside information?  I'm curious as to the weather that month, also where is a reasonable place to get a transient slip and be able to leave the trailer.  It will be about an 8 hour trip either way from where I live so I want to make sure that it will actually be worth the haul.
