The wife was attending yet another luncheon, so I thought I'd go sailing. After packing the cooler with ginger ale, tonic water, and coke, I drove to the boat. Once the prep work was completed we motored along the creek. After a 1/4 mile i noticed black smoke mixed with out the water discharge. A call to the mechanic says most likely the prop is fouled. The bottom hasn't been cleaned since last fall. I would do it myself, but the waters are teaming with jellyfish. Rather than take a chance we headed back to the slip where Moscow mules, rum & cokes, and gin & tonics were consumed.
Feeling at ease, I felt a nap was warranted. Not wanting to awake to a sunburn, I layed down in the cabin and was soon gently rocked asleep. It's nice to know one doesn't need to leave the slip to enjoy their boat.
