Getting ready to kick off the first full season with Harrier and want to rig a boom vang on the old girl.....looking for ideas and suggestions.

An excellent improvement! I got rid of the hateful boom topping lift and installed a Garhauer rigid vang. Love it and consider it one of the best upgrades I've done. It involves making a paper template of your mast and boom cross sections, since Hutchins used spars from various different suppliers over the life of the 27 model. Garhauer provides custom mounting plates as part of the package.

Also recommend the Garhauer mast plate - a handy place to install turning blocks without drilling holes in the deck.

Hey Deadrise:
I installed a Boom Kicker on our C-27 Windrunner.  I think that it was a less expensive option.  Here is the link to the old post:

or possibly this:  https://cpyoa.com/forum/index.php?topic=9286.msg69975#msg69975

I hope that you can open one or the other.  There are some disadvantages to the boom kicker, but it worked as advertised.
