Middle daughter gave me a Kindle for Christmas and an Amazon gift card for my birthday. I bought all 3 of our very own Al Santini's books. Now, how do I get him to sign my Kindle? ????
FYI - if you are a prime member you get one free book per month and can borrow one book per month free. If you are an avid reader kindle unlimited is a fantastic deal. Unlimited lets you borrow up to 10 books at a time for free and you can read as many you books as you want. I've probably read over 1000 books since I signed up for unlimited a few years ago.

Thanks Fred, that is good to know. I do read a lot, usually several books/magazines at the same time. This morning I purchased the entire collection of Jules Verne and H.P. Lovecraft. ($1.98 total!)
I have about 40 books stored aboard, so this Kindle will free up lot of space.
Today open the mail to find 2 of Al's books. Our eldest daughter bought them for my birthday. Damn, I forgot to delete them from my list after buying the kindle versions.
Old fart Bob23 here. I will always prefer real books printed on real paper... love the smell and feel of an old book too. 1st edition of Tinkerbelle is among my favorites. I've amassed a nice collection that I'm quite happy with... love the look of the loaded bookshelves in my office.
Nothing wrong with a kindle; I just don't want to use technology to read a good book.

I have never used a Kindle but I absolutely love it! I tend to go to bed earlier than the Admiral. When she comes to bed she wants to read for an hour or so. For years we argued about turning the lights off and I bought all kinds of reading lamps that would be directed at the book to solve the problem. She hated them all and they never worked anyway, still kept me up. Then I bought her a Kindle. Problem is solved, she reads as long as she wants, it does not keep me awake.
Carl. So cool that you decided to put my books on your Kindle. I hope you enjoy them and I would appreciate an evaluation on Amazon for especially the third book. Any plans for CLR next summer or will you be in the middle of construction? Sail On Al
Al, I'll definitely leave a review. The amount of stars left will depend on the brand of rum I find in our cockpit at CLR. ????
We are planning on coming, and I'm also planning on doing the Florida 120. It will depend on where we are with the house and when CLR is.

For years I stuck with paper books as I preferred that for reading, that is, until I saw a kindle paper white. The paper white kindle is readable in total darkness as well as bright sunshine and everything in between. Unlike earlier kindles the paper white kindle pages look very much like a paper book. Plus I never lose my place because the book mark fell out and I have hundreds of books on the kindle. Plus I only need one hand to read the kindle. Wish I had that when I used to travel for work. At this point I never want to have to go back to a paper book, but it took me a long time before I converted.
