The 5 is a fudge factor to keep it interesting. Show your work for the winter of 2020-1 using actual days of last sail 2020 and first sail 2021.
Mine:
5 x 44/168 (11/05/20 to 04/22/21)
1.31
OK, if I see it properly -- last sail was 12/18/2020, first sail was 1/15/2021, no. days = 12+15=27 latitude here is 35.
my score is 5 x 35/27 = 6.48

I got a null error when I tried to calculate mine
5 x 42 / (null - null)
Null is what a non existant value is called in some computer programming languages and a null error occurs when the program attempts to access a value that doesn't exist. Unfortunately I sold my 23 last year before it went into the water and didn't get my new eclipse until after the season was over and haven't launched yet this year because the boat is tied up with getting some warranty work done. Hopefully will launch by the end of next month.

Well done.
My intent was to introduce a constant to give us northerners a chance of staying on par, and everyone a mark to beat. The formula still needs work obviously, although I'm just as impressed by you having less than a month downtime in NC as I was with myself for sailing in both November and April in Minnesota. Ice in the water both times!
