I'm traveling for the first time in 18 months next week, going to see my father and his wife. We're going to be in Fort Myers and I was thinking of visiting Com-Pac Hutchins when I'm there. Have any of you done it? Worth it?
I also have a new sail on order from Sail Technologies, who I guess make the sails for Com-Pac now. They welcomed a visit, although my sail won't be ready yet. I think it might be fun to see.
We're both vaccinated and are not going to do the usual things (restaurants, etc). Probably mostly visiting state parks and walking around outside, pretending we remember what it's still like to be human, in case that skill every becomes useful again.
Renae,
Definitely worth the visit to Hutchins Factory. You'll find the Hutchins brothers to be very hospitable; and I'm sure you'll get to see many boats under construction as I'm informed that their capacity is booked for this year.

I visited a couple of years ago. They gave me a private tour. This kind of service is why I love Hutchins. I still wear the cap I bought.
Hi, Renae ~
Did you end up visiting Com-pac on your trip? I'd love to hear all about it — I would love to do that, one day!
Happy Sails!

I didn't. The timing in terms of the pandemic was not very optimal this year. My aging father still snowbirds every winter, so I hope there will be other opportunities.

Thanks for letting me know, Renae — hope you get to do it next time around! I am sure it would be fantastic!
