Do you know how much this engine weighs? I am in NJ also and quite interested. I presently have a 8 hp Nissan 2 stroke, wonderul motor but I may want to upgrade to a 4 stroke. A bit concerned about the extra weight.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, haven't gone into this site for a while.  The engine weight is 98.1 lbs.  Email me if you have any further questions.

Almost 100 lb for a 8 hp? The 2 stroke Mercury on the boat I have is about 56 lb...or lighter. I did not look up the weight...kind of a lota weight for just 3 hp more...don't you think.

And a 5 hp pushes the Com-Pac 19 at around 4.2~5.1 knots. Same as the sails. So we have 5 hp sails? LOL skip.
