Title: Topping lift question
Post by: Phldllr on August 28, 2020, 10:29:37 AM
To date, I?ve secured a line to the top of the mast and then tie it off to the end of the boom.  A taut line hitch at the boom end allows some adjustment.  The other day the little eyelet I?d been using atop the mast broke.  Before I replace it, does anyone have experience with installing some sort of block on the mast specifically for a topping lift halyard?  I?d appreciate any advice and photos!

If you search "Topping Lift" on our site you will find some info from last summer.

I've used a tautline hitch and various clip arrangements for the topping lift. Somewhere on this site is a recommendation for a wood block with two holes similar to securing tent lines.
Found this to be reliable and easy to adjust.
