Title: One of those days
Post by: Bramble on June 22, 2019, 11:38:50 PM
I took my c-16 for a ride today.  We rode down to Oriental & around the full parking lot of the ramp there.  Then we rode back
to Lawson's creek & around the full parking lot there.  Then I gave up & we rode back home & I did some maintenance.

I'm sure your boat appreciated getting out for a change.

Saturday was the same for us ,  got to the launch and not a parking site to be had ,  so this morning we got up at 4:30 am and even beat most of the fishermen to the ramps .  Had a great sail ,  then the wind quit , then the motor wouldn't start  .

But the worst day on the water is better than the best day at work.

I absolutely love that little sailing village. I'm always looking at the webcams on Towndock.net. I was just down in Oriental last week looking at a FREE Morgan 28 Out Island. Used to own a 33 O/I so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to check it out. She was on the hard and had some rain water intrusion from the hurricane but nothing too egregious. She needed a top to bottom paint job and new running rigging but I was surprised at how decent she was, overall. Good bones! But I ended up passing on her as she sits over 300 miles from home and I just wouldn't have the time to invest in getting her ready to splash. Dry storage was about $200 more than a slip would be. Guess, I'll keep looking for that next project.
