Title: mooring cover
Post by: jimbo on June 18, 2019, 08:42:59 AM
Does anybody make a mooring cover for a Com-Pac 16?  if not what does anybody use to cover their boat?  Mine will be tied to a mooring buoy when not being sailed.

I used to cover the boom with a tarp weighted down with 1/2 gallon milk jugs filled with water.  This really accomplished little except to keep the rain out of the cockpit.  It was inconvenient on a mooring.  I did not want to install clips or snaps.  Now I use nothing but a main sail and motor cover.  The 16 is self bailing.  Every once in a while I hose off the boat at the marina.

Thank you, my main concern is protecting the boat from the constant exposure to the sun.

A good UV protectant wax or coating such as the stuff  Starbrite makes.  The bigger problem around here is dirty birds.  2 foot strips of shiny mylar seems to do the trick there.
