Hi all, newbie Compac guy here. Scored a pretty 1982 model here in Charlotte, NC and intend to sail local lakes some and the coast a bunch. I've owned and cruised everything from Windrider 17's on Lake Norman and Hobie Adventure Islands in Great Exuma, Bahamas...to a Columbia 28 and a Morgan 33 Outisland in Florida. I'm looking forward to getting her cleaned up, rigged up and the sails up. I'm a canvas guy by trade so I'll make her some cushions, a bimini and probably a boom tent. I haven't done a detailed inspection of the sails yet, so a Sailrite sail kit may be in my future as well.
I look forward to sharing and contributing here and hope to even meet some fellow Compac sailors some time in the near future.
Semper Fi,
Rick
Welcome and congrats on the new boat! Please post some pics so we can check her out. I am sure you being a "canvas guy" you will get a warm welcome as everyone needs canvas. You could possibly avoid the hefty membership initiation fees by the extortionist from up north by providing some nice canvas items for the members. Just note I would get the first priority order! I have a fleet of Com-pacs and am confident you will love your new boat! Get us some pics! We will lift a cold one in your honor!
Dale in sunny Florida!
Welcome Rick!
After you complete your cockpit cushions, I'd love to commission some cockpit cushions for my CP-16. I make it down to Charlotte NC area frequently.
Maybe we can get together to compare notes!

Hmmm boy did you open yourself up :-) I'm going to be needing complete covers for my 16 and 19 - welcome to the world of Compac's really wonderful boats !
Geez! Thought I'd come here to get away from work! Lol
Once we get past the holidays, I intend to get started in earnest.
Thanks for the warm welcome!
hope you get to enjoy your new boat. there are many helpful people on this forum. they all seem to be down to earth and friendly
Congrats on the new boat, and welcome. I guess Wylie and Norman will be favorite haunts. Look forward to your posts.
Welcome and congrats! Once you do the bimini and boom tent, please do post pics. It's something I'd like to do, but haven't found a good and easy to install solution thus far!
