Title: Adrift
Post by: slode on June 13, 2018, 09:24:08 AM
Went to see "Adrift" last night after reading an article in "Sky" magazine about the leading actress Shailene Woodley.  I hadn't seen any adds for this movie, it didn't receive much press.  But it's a pretty good true story about Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp's journey to deliver a 44' yacht from Tahiti to San Diego.  If you know the whole true story the movie probably won't be as good, but it's worth seeing if you haven't.

Might wait for it on demand as it could kill my sea going dreams if I take the Admiral to see it.

I thought it was very well made. Shailene Woodley is excellent, and the movie avoids any obvious mistakes about sailboats. There is a frightening storm at sea, so my advice is to leave any nervous spouses at home.
