Title: CDI Luff Length
Post by: bogel85 on April 24, 2018, 01:27:25 PM
What is the proper luff length for a CDI FF 2 for a ComPac 23 II?

Just installed a CDI FF1 on my ComPac Legacy.

I don't think there is a specified length. The length varies by boat, due to the actual mast rake of your boat.

If you have a forestay on your boat already, measure the length, and follow the directions from CDI. If you need a new forestay, install it first to make sure that the length is correct before you cut the luff.

Make sure to not cut the luff on the bottom end that has the sail slot. Cut the luff on the end that will be on top.

Good luck!

Thanks, CayugaSailor.  I do have the manual from CDI. Am updating an older Cruising Design furler with jointed metal sections with a newer plastic luff off an O'Day 22.
