Title: What's this hole?
Post by: Jasmid53 on April 22, 2018, 01:27:17 PM
Is this hole factory made or from previous owner? What was it used for? I have a whole lot of questions coming.

I believe it is for gas line or Battery line to engine.  I am on way to my 19 and will take photos.

the hole on the transom is for the fuel line.

the other hole on the side was probably put there by the p.o.

Thanks. I knew about the fuel line hole out the transom. My guess was the same as yours, that the PO cut that hole for gas line. Not too smart storing fuel in these boats. The PO of my 16 did something similar. He cut holes through the rear hatch to store his gas. Did a real hack job too; took me a long time to fix his mess.  Again, not too smart.

Jasmid,

See below my fuel locker.  Previous owner had outboard that could charge battery and ran cable through garden hose.

I use Torqeedo 1003L electric, and now use this area for cooler.

Thanks, I might be wrong about the gas being kept inside.

You might install a rubber plug into that hole, maybe seal it on, automotive grade and shops should have em.
But otherwise I agree with Carl, mine doesnt have one luckily!

My boat had this hole when new. It was for a charging wire off the original outboard. I have used it for a solar panel.
