Title: What paint for the walls of the salon?
Post by: chimerakc on March 08, 2018, 09:05:48 AM
Its badly stained from leaks which have been fixed.  Just wondering what type of white paint to use for this project. Wont need much.    Thanks

For the underside of my sliding companionway hatch, the only place where paint is needed on my boat, I used a high quality gloss (better for cleaning than flat or satin) latex enamel of the type that says it is specifically for bathrooms or other wet areas.  They will have extra mildew prevention additives.  Has worked out very well.

I bought a quart of Petit EZ Cabin paint.  A bit pricey ($30 at Defender) but it has extra mildew additives as well. I figured I'd use a paint specifically for boats. Need warmer weather to paint though...

I used Kilz Max on mine three years ago and she still looks great.
