Hello everyone, I acquired a 1999 Com-Pac 19XL, 6 HP 4-stroke longshaft outboard motor and galvanized trailer over the weekend and brought her home for winter storage in my driveway in Southeastern Massachusetts. She's in great shape, equipped with a new 135% gennie on a CDI roller furler, and her previous owner made some equipment customizations which are really cool. Just needs a new mainsail and some Cetol for the teak and she'll be ready to go in the spring. I'm already planning extended weekend trips around the Narragansett Bay for this summer! JD
Welcome aboard! Got a 19 myself last season and it's a great little beast to sail. People love seeing modifications so you should post them. Now watch your wallet as some on here are true pirates!

Congrats on the new boat and welcome aboard. I too recently bought a 19' and am quite anxious to get out and sail her. I'm over at Bullocks Cove in Riverside RI. It would be nice to have a regatta with the number of Com-pacs around.
I guarantee you'll not experience "buyers remorse" on that purchase. They are very sweet boats!

Congrats on the new boat. We own her slightly older sister, CP19XL # 603 with a teal hull and lots of goodies. Have had her since 2009 and had a CP16 before that.
She has treated us very kindly and stands out among the "lesser" sailboats on our lake. I especially like how she handles and provides plenty of control and comfort for her size; performance isn't bad either.
Just show up at a boat ramp and you'll have a gathering of admirers--really, they do draw a lot of attention.
There are only about 75 or so XL versions made--most the differences are the interior fiberglass liner and USUALLY the factory would install all options on them (such as genoa tracks, newer style winches, aft led controls, stanchions/lifelines, etc) so keep in mind that not all boats will be optioned like yours. Also little things like your fuse panel (saw your other post) are located on the starboard companionway "wall", whereas prior boats had the panel on the steps (which I'm glad isn't the case for my boat).
Have fun with her, like Jackrabbit said you won't regret the purchase.
Thanks Salty. Yup she seems to have all the "bells & whistles" too. What is impressive is that when I thump on the side of the hull with my hand it's solid compared to the hulls on previous Catalinas and O'days in the same size range which would flex quite a bit.

We have loved sailing the 19 that we have purchased a 23 and can't wait to see how fun this experience is going to be. We will miss her but still have fond memories on the water with some wind.
