Title: Peak Sails??
Post by: Blown Away on December 29, 2017, 10:33:05 PM
Anyone out there familiar with Peak sails that can give me some feedback on fit, quality, and performance? Thanks!

The disclaimer:I'm no sail expert!I bought a Coastal cruise main and hank-on jib for my 19-2 the winter before last.
Had a good experience communicating with them during the purchase process.
The sails arrived carefully packaged with sail bags for each.
They were a good fit dimensionally on the boat.
As for performance-I only had the old bags that came with the boat-so it was a definite upgrade!
Quality-the final factor;there were no glaring issues when I received them and during the first two seasons of moderate use.
But there are little things that I question as I became more familiar with the sails that go back to the"you get what you pay for"advice.
The little things would not be a dealbreaker here, though.I got a new set of sails for a reasonable price and the Sailpay(4 installments)
made it that much more attainable. All in all, they were not a disappointment in any way for the price point, but other lofts may be more competitive now... We'll see how they hold up over time!

I bought a new main last year and asked about Peak on this forum. Do a search of peak sails.  I was guided to National Sails and the new main has been great. Pricing was identical but payment was 50% at order, and the remainder when it shipped. Took about 6 weeks.

bought a jib from supersailmakers in fla. they are affiliated with doyle sails. so far I'm happy with the performance and the jib was pretty reasonable (national prices). check out their video when they made a jib for Delos.
