Title: Small world department
Post by: NCboater on December 27, 2017, 11:03:47 AM
I was at my home in Ocean Isle Beach NC when a gaggle of city workers descended on the city pump in front of the house.  I went out to find out what was going on.  They explained what they were doing and then one of the fellows asked if that was a "hutch boat", pointing to my Com-pac 16 sitting in the driveway.  If you mean a Com-pac made by Hutchins then yes!  He then said his uncle, Buck Thomas, founded the company.

A little late to chime in but..

Interesting.   Researched further, found that Keith wrote about Buck here:

I am in the Carolinas as well, but near Charlotte.  Nearest coastal sailing would be Charleston Harbor, but i would like to sail the Neuse some day, when I have enough time to do it right.
