Title: Small galley for the 19 (pictures needed and dimensions!)
Post by: MacGyver on June 30, 2017, 10:29:03 PM
Looking for pictures of the original small galley option for the 19. Also any plans that anyone has for it would be great or dimensions, etc of the original.

I did find some pictures of it on the site, but looking for more if anyone has any!

Hi Mac,
Here are two pics of the galley that came with my '83 19.  Overall dims at the widest are 24 7/8 X 14. This includes the lip that sets on the v berth frame. inside that lip it is 23 1/2 X 13 1/4. The the actual piece of plywood hinged on the front measures 21 3/4 X17 1/4. That is let into the trim on the left and right sides making the front wider. There is a socket under that hinged front to take a removable table leg.

I prefer to leave the unit out as it takes up more space than I like. I use a little table top that I set on top of that little alcove. I find a dishpan more useful than the small sink which originally drained to a big jug in the bilge. I guess like the previous owner I'm not a fan of unneeded thru hulls. I also can set the stove on that top If I need to cook inside and It lifts it off to get to storage underneath easily.  I just started using part of that underneath space for a second deep cycle battery.

I made a great folding galley for my 19. I can send pictures via e-mail. Contact captainrank@charter.net for an address to send pictures. The galley contains a sink, table, pantry and stove and kitchen utensils. The beautiful part is that the whole thing folds into the v-berth cutout. a cushion fits in the space above the galley.
